NEW 2-AXIS DEFLECTION UNIT
Wessling, August 23rd 2016 - Latest model of SUPERSCAN series by RAYLASE opens up new possibilities in laser material processing.
The SUPERSCAN V leads a laser beam on a speed up to 14 m/s in a 250 mm working distance through the edit box. This high speed and enormous acceleration capabilities for sharp corners are now possible, thanks to lighter mirror substrates, stronger galvanometers and a new power amplifier design. Power consumption is significantly lower than for comparable models, which keeps the device surprisingly cool. Thanks to an improved amplifier design with reduced heat dissipation, the SUPERSCAN V offers minimal drift values and thus high precision.
The electronic control unit of SUPERSCAN V is digitalized in order to provide excellent dynamic and continuous monitoring of the mirror position as well as its speed and temperature. Depending on the applied protocol (SL2-100 or XY2-100) the mirrors can be positioned with up to 20 bit resolution which corresponds to an angle of 0.76 µrad. Repeatability (RMS) is below 0.4 rad. Due to the enormous acceleration and maximum speed of digital galvanometers, SUPERSCAN V can process laser tasks in sharp corners extremely fast, running accurately and precisely.
The latest RAYLASE control card SP-ICE-3 is ideally suited for the digital management of SUPERSCAN V. In this unique combination the development of complex laser systems with a wide variety of laser jobs or Marking-and-Processing-on-the-fly is simplified significantly.
The lenses and lightweight SiC scanning mirrors are available for all common types of laser power levels, focal lengths, edit fields and wavelengths from 355 to 10600 nm. Currently the SUPERSCAN V is available with an input aperture of 15 mm. Soon other versions (10 mm, etc) will follow shortly. Connectors for air and water cooling are available on all SUPERSCAN deflection units. The RAYLASE Technical Support Team will be glad to assist with developing the ideal configuration for specific applications and if required also customized solutions.
The SUPERSCAN V is the right choice for a variety of high-end applications of laser material processing where the highest accuracy is required. This is ensured at all times by the digital control of the mirror positions. Precise tasks, such as marking, scribing, welding, drilling or structuring of semiconductor wafers, medical products and document/smart card security features benefit from the precision and speed of SUPERSCAN V.
